In this 4-week class on Zoom, I will walk you through recommended steps and best practices for beginning a still life study and a landscape study using water soluble oils. We will spend two sessions developing a still life and two sessions developing a landscape. Reference photos and drawing tips will be provided.
This class is not for complete beginners. It is best suited for those with foundational knowledge of oil or acrylic painting, color theory, and foundational drawing skills. Think "level two beginner" or intermediate.
Recommended Supply List:
-A medium-large sized sketchbook for drawing/sketching practice
-Graphite pencils (4H, 2H, 2B, 4B, 6B)
-eraser
-Canvas paper, oil paper*, or stretched canvases (whatever size you prefer is fine)

-A set of watercolor-soluble oil paints (recommended brands: Winsor & Newton* Artisan Water Soluble Oils, Royal Talens Cobra Artists, Daniel Smith Water-Soluble Oils, or Holbein Duo Aqua Oils)

-Water-mixable oil mediums like a fast drying medium, linseed oil, and stand oil are all recommended but not required
-5-7 oil painting brushes (at least 2-3 sizes flat, 2-3 sizes round, and one liner brush)
-palette paper/freezer paper

-Blue tape or masking tape
-an easel and/or masonite board/drawing board to tape canvas paper

Policies & Procedures
This online class needs a minimum number of 3 students to enroll before the class can “make.” If the minimum enrollment has not been met 48 hours before the class begins, the class will be canceled/rescheduled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by text or email, and may transfer to a different class or be issued a refund (see refund procedure).
Please purchase a separate registration for anyone else who may be attending the class with you.
Cancellation / Refunds
Program attendance is the responsibility of the participant. Failure to attend a class does not entitle a participant to a transfer, makeup, prorate or refund. No refunds are issued for registrations that are cancelled without 7 days' advance notice of the class day. Refund requests made prior to 7 days before the class date will be paid in full.
Transfers
Failure to attend a class does not entitle a participant to a transfer, makeup, prorate or refund. If Adrienne cancels a class due to low enrollment, you are welcome to transfer your enrollment to another class/the rescheduled date of this class.
